Author’s Talk

Dr. Janet Lynne Douglass is a retired family nurse practitioner. Her previous publications have been related to health issues. However, as a nurse scientist, and watching trends, patterns, and outcomes for years, she believes not all things can be explained. In this current work she steps out of the realm of health care to explore the unexplainable, relying on evidence, personal experiences—past and present, to tell her most unusual story about a family heirloom.

Dr. Douglass has a doctorate degree from The George Washington University and received the George Washington 10th Anniversary School of Nursing Distinguished Alumni Award in 2020. She loves hiking, birding, playing guitar and songwriting.

She resides in Winnsboro, South Carolina, where she has lived her entire life so far. - Janet Lynne Douglass
